Nail clipping: a healthy dog was designed to walk on their toe pads. If their nails are touching the ground, the sensitive quick can cause them to curl the toes up and put excess pressure and strain on their joints and ligaments. If not monitored regularly, this can lead to early onset arthritis, and hip or elbow dysplasia for larger breeds and those prone to these issues. This service is included in a Full Groom service and should be completed every 2-3 weeks to maintain the healthiest quick length.
Nail Grinding: using a nail grinder, dremel or file can help to reduce the scratchy edges left from a basic nail clipping. If properly maintained, a grinder is the best way to maintain a short, healthy quick as it is the least likely for a groomer to clip the quick with regular trimmers. This service can be added to any grooming service as an additional fee or desired Add-On.
Pad Trimming: clipping out the hair between toe pads can greatly reduce the amount of dirt, mud, and debris that your pup brings into the house. Keeping the nails trimmed is important, but if not maintained properly as well, excessive hair between the toe pads can create a soft slippery mess as your pup struggles for traction. This service is included with a Full Groom and can be added to any groom that includes a bath.
Moisturized Pads: dry, hot or cold temperatures can lead to excessive toe pad wear and significant cracking. Keeping the toe pads moisturized in conjuction with clean from fur between the toe pads is one of the best ways to ensure your pup does not end up with infection and bacteria growth on their feet. This service can be added to any grooming service or as a standalone item at any time.
